Job summary

The qualified candidate will perform duties and responsibilities necessary to support the area to which they are assigned at Glenbard Township High School District 87.

Position requires strong organizational, clerical, and technical skills, including data entry, scheduling, and operating common office equipment. Proficiency with Google Suite and word processing is required, plus clear written and verbal communication and the ability to work with staff and students.

  • Requires organizational, clerical, and technical skills. This includes data entry, scheduling and the ability to operate commonly used office equipment.
  • Knowledge of Google Suites and proficient word processing is required.
  • Should be able to troubleshoot basic issues.
  • Requires skill in both written and verbal communication as well as the ability to collaborate with other staff members and students.
  • Some positions may require: ELS(PARA) License (ISBE registered in DuPage Co), a valid driver's license, or musical accompaniment skill.

Responsibilities

  • Greet visitors, students and staff.
  • Receive mail and other deliveries, distribute mail, do bulk mailings and operate postage meter.
  • Answer phone, relieve switchboard operator and operate office equipment.
  • Responsible for maintaining and ordering inventory.
  • Schedule appointments.
  • May perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to maintain current job skills as directed, especially in technology-related activities.
  • Ability to perform essential duties with an awareness of school district requirements and School Board policies.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and the ability to adjust focus. In addition, the ability to withstand long-term use of video display terminals (VDT) is required.
  • The employee may occasionally lift up to 30 pounds such as reference books.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • The pace of work tasks would be considered as fast.
  • Work is usually conducted at one job site, however, on occasion, this employee will be required to attend meetings, conferences, or workshops and events at other sites as assigned.
