Description and Purpose

In order to preserve the image set forth by the company, the Building and Grounds Maintenance person will strive to keep the company’s building and grounds neat and clean.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain heating and air conditioning systems
• Mow, trim grass, and shovel snow
• Replace light bulbs, repair lights and outlets, perform minor building repairs
• Clean lighting fixtures and building trim
• Dust furniture and equipment
• Wash walls, ceilings, and woodwork
• Wash windows, door panels, and sills
• Empty wastebaskets and clean ashtrays
• Transport trash, scrap metal, and waste to disposal area
• Replenish bathroom supplies
• Transfer trucks and deliver parts as needed
• Transport small equipment or tools between departments

Personal Requirements

• Ability to read and understand written information
• Ability to listen and understand spoken information
• Effective communication skills in writing and verbally
• Attentiveness and ability to ask questions for clarity
• Basic math skills
• Good interaction with managers, customers, and the public
• Ability to operate or learn to operate loaders, tractors, and other equipment
• Valid driver’s license; CDL preferred
