Job summary

Intertek, a leading provider of quality and safety solutions, is seeking an entry-level Builder to join our Building and Construction team in York, PA. This role offers on-the-job training and exposure to mock-up testing, specimen preparation, and client installations.

You will work with the Project Manager, technicians, and clients to ensure project details are complete while learning safety practices and building standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Welding experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to read and interpret technical standards and specifications.
• Knowledge of equipment and tools used in building construction.
• Commercial construction experience desired.
• Ability to follow direction and work independently and in a team environment.
• Ability to lift, push and/or pull up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to bend, climb ladders, and work at heights up to 60 feet.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Construction and demolition of mock-up test assemblies.
• Small, intermediate, and large-scale specimen preparation.
• Assist with client product installation (when needed).
• Read, understand, and interpret client and manager provided installation drawings and procedures.

• Implement ideas and execute practices to ensure safety, reliability, improved quality, reduce cost, and comply with company policies.

What are we looking for?

What it takes to be successful in this role:

• High school diploma or GED


• Welding experience preferred but not required

• Ability to follow direction and work independently and in a team environment
