Job summary

Classica Homes, a luxury custom home builder in the greater Charlotte area, seeks an experienced Builder to supervise residential projects from grading through closing. You’ll lead the site team, ensure customer satisfaction, and collaborate with trade partners to deliver high-quality homes on schedule.

Responsibilities include coordinating construction phases, daily site inspections, and maintaining safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• At least five years in residential single-family construction on-site.
• Knowledge of building codes and regulations.
• Proficient in plan reading, Excel, and Adobe.
• Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Organized, detail-oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver finished homes that meet Classica's quality standards, on time and on schedule.
• Update each customer weekly on progress, what to expect next week, and any questions or needs.
• Schedule all phases of construction, keeping the weekly schedule and Classica (Novi) app milestones current.
• Coordinate with Trade Partners and adjust the schedule to keep each home on track.
• Schedule and meet with government inspectors at the required stages of construction.
• Inspect every home daily to confirm quality standards and phase specs are met: every room, every floor, the entire outside, every day.
• Keep communities and jobsites clean, including streets, dumpsters, and portable toilets, with each site broom swept daily.
• Keep Model Homes and completed Signature (spec) Homes clean and maintained at all times.
• Make sure OSHA safety standards are met, complete weekly site inspections in the SafetyCulture app, and correct unsafe practices, issuing fines when needed.

About the Role

The Builder supervises construction of each home from house setting and grading through completion. You take full responsibility for the home and the customer experience from pre-construction through closing, with the support of our entire team.

Qualifications

• At least five years in residential single-family construction as an onsite Project Manager, Superintendent, Builder, or similar, supervising homes from grading to completion
• Thorough knowledge of single-family construction practices and materials, building codes, zoning ordinances, and other applicable regulations
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
• Proficient in plan reading, Excel, and Adobe
• Team player who can motivate and persuade others and works well with internal departments, Trade Partners, and customers
• Self-starter who is comfortable in a fast-paced, changing, hands-on environment
• Organized and detail oriented, with a focus on accuracy, timeliness, documentation, and follow-through
• Treats people with respect, listens to understand, and holds people accountable
