Job summary

Integrated Home Care Services, Inc. is seeking a senior software engineer to lead a small engineering team, own production releases, and shape technical direction for .NET Framework and .NET Core deployments.

You will build from source, prepare deployment assets, and automate CI/CD and database changes across IIS/SQL Server environments. The role requires hands-on Windows/IIS infrastructure experience, strong expertise in Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions, and availability for off-hours release

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, incl. 2+ years in production deployments
• Experience modernizing long‑lived legacy systems with automated processes
• Hands-on with .NET applications — .NET Framework and .NET Core (C# and VB.NET)
• Infrastructure experience on Windows Server and IIS environments
• SQL Server deployment, schema changes, and data migrations
• CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions
• Automated deployment to VM fleets (AMI-like) and rollback on failure
• Availability to release production deployments during off-hours

What will you be doing:

The incumbent will be hands‑on building and shipping agents yourself, while also growing and leading a small engineering team as it scales. You will bring senior software engineering judgment to a fast‑evolving space, with the freedom to set technical direction on architecture and stack. You will build the product from source across our .NET Framework and .NET Core codebases, and prepare complete, verified deployment assets for each release. Own and execute production releases during scheduled off‑hours windows, including web applications on IIS, Windows Services, and SQL Server database changes. Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines that automate deployments to lower environments and production. Automate database deployment — schema changes, stored procedures, and data migration — as a reviewed, repeatable part of the release process. Support developers in improving branching strategy and the local development experience. Lead diagnosis of deployment‑related issues across the application, web, service, and database tiers. Partner with our cloud engineering team on the infrastructure and environment improvements that reliable delivery depends on.

What will you need to succeed:

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, including at least 2 years with direct responsibility for production deployments and the infrastructure they run on.
• Proven experience modernizing long‑lived legacy systems — you've worked in codebases with accumulated history and older frameworks, inherited the fragile manual processes around them, and had the judgment to find where automation actually paid off.
• Hands‑on experience building and deploying Microsoft .NET applications — both .NET Framework and .NET Core — including comfort working in both C# and VB.NET
• Hands‑on infrastructure experience — you've configured, deployed to, and troubleshot the Windows Server and IIS environments your applications run on, including installing and upgrading Windows Services, rather than handing deployments off to another team. Ours runs on AWS EC2; equivalent cloud or virtualized environments translate.
• SQL Server deployment experience: schema, stored procedures, and data migration scripts as part of a release
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or comparable platforms — treating pipelines, scripts, and infrastructure definitions as version‑controlled, reviewed, testable code
• Experience automating deployment to auto‑scaled compute fleets built on machine images — automated VM image builds AMIs or equivalent, as distinct from container images), rolling instance replacement, health‑check gated promotion, and rollback on failure
• Availability to execute production releases during off‑hours windows

Preferred

• AWS experience, particularly Windows workloads on EC2 and AMI pipelines
• Configuration management — Ansible, Packer, or similar technologies
• Familiarity with SQL Server Data Tools SSDT) and DACPAC Data-tier Application Package) deployments
• Experience operating in a SOC 2 environment
• Healthcare or other regulated‑industry experience
