Job summary

Amrize seeks a Build For Growth Mechanical Engineer I at the Whitehall Cement Plant in PA. The program develops new grads over 16 months with blended learning, including on-the-job projects and online sessions.

You will create and monitor CBM programs, work with suppliers, and drive maintenance reliability with PMRs, BOMs, and MTBF improvements while coordinating SAP activities and safety compliance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or 3 years of equivalent experience.
  • Field of Study: Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
  • 0-3 years of work experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Work with equipment suppliers and plant staff to ensure operability.
  • Monitor reliability-based systems, preventive maintenance, and condition monitoring.
  • Create PMRs and BOMs for new equipment; manage PMR optimization in SAP.
  • Conduct root cause analyses and PFMEA to eliminate recurring problems.
  • Support improvements to MTBF and equipment availability.
  • Coordinate preventive maintenance in SAP with planners.
  • Provide training to maintenance staff on reliability concepts.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Mechanical Engineer will provide support to the operation and maintenance of the plant’s equipment. They will also be responsible for creating, implementing, and monitoring Condition Based Maintenance (CBM) programs.

The Mechanical Engineer, New Graduate will also be a part of the Amrize Build4Growth Program. This is an extensive, 16-month cement manufacturing learning and development program designed to provide new graduate engineers with foundational knowledge and experience on the main operational areas of our cement plants. This program is built on a blended learning approach including online learning, face-to-face sessions, on-the-job assignments, and projects

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH
  • The Mechanical Engineer will work closely with equipment suppliers, plant staff to ensure successful operation of the plant.
  • Responsible for monitoring reliability based systems including preventative maintenance systems, vibration analysis, and condition monitoring.
  • Participate in the creation of preventative maintenance routines (PMRs) and bills of materials (BOMs) for new equipment.Management of the preventive/predictive maintenance programs (Inspection, Vibration, Oil Analysis, NDT, thermography, etc.) to ensure optimum equipment availability.
  • Analysis and elimination of repetitive problems through root cause analysis, Pareto analysis, statistical review, FMEA and similar techniques.
  • Support and guide sustainable improvements in Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF) of major equipment.
  • Responsible for the facilitation of continuous improvement processes around equipment availability and reliability.
  • Coordinate SAP system operations in the area of preventative maintenance routine (PMR) optimization and development with maintenance planners.
  • Provide technical support, training and development for maintenance functions with specific focus on entrenching reliability concepts within the maintenance group.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Education: Bachelor's degree or 3 years of equivalent experience.

Field of Study Preferred: Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or similar field.

Required Work Experience: 0-3 years

Required Computer and Software Skills: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

Travel Requirements:5%
