Build Engineer
San Diego Studio (Onsite, hybrid or remote from The US)
We have an exciting opportunity to join our San Diego Studios team here at Sony Interactive Entertainment, PlayStation! We seek a Build Engineer to learn, maintain, and improve existing build systems technology as well as to configure development hardware and software for many different platforms.
Responsibilities:
Learn, maintain, and improve existing error checking scripts for games, viewers, and tools
Learn, maintain, and improve existing game and patch build scripts
Support internally developed and enterprise (aka Visual Studio) development tools
Maintain software on build desktops and servers
Research and experiment with new technologies, tools, and techniques
Configure and maintain development hardware (aka devkits)
Configure game development software for various platforms (aka SDKs)
Manage hardware inventory including desktops, monitors, dev hardware, etc
Assist with hardware and software orders
Assist with onboarding and offboarding hires for San Diego Studio
Create software and support documentation
Requirements:
6 years of professional work experience in a technical field
Bachelor's Degree in a technical field and/or equivalent work experience
Ability to write, understand, and maintain batch and bash scripts (Powershell, Python, and other languages a plus)
Ability to design and implement modular and easily extensible solutions
Strong organizational skills
Pluses:
Understanding of Windows, Mac OS, and Linux
Experience working with computer hardware and computer networking
Experience with using Perforce or other version control systems
Experience with Jenkins and CI/CD pipelines
Knowledge or experience with Games or the Game Industry
General understanding of Baseball and the MLB

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.
Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

The estimated base pay range for this role is listed below.
$106,700 - $160,100 USD
