Job summary

SpaceX is hiring a Build Engineer for COPVS (Starship) in Westminster, MD. You will contribute to the production, qualification, and design analysis of COPVs and related tooling, advancing the manufacturing system and processes.

You will develop and review work instructions as designs evolve, perform one-off analyses, and support design reviews with internal teams and suppliers. This role requires relocation to Westminster, MD and readiness for extended hours.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
• 1+ years of engineering experience in manufacturing or production (internships and school projects count).
• Welding, inspection, and production tooling knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Work with vehicle analysts to ensure designs meet vehicle and manufacturing requirements.
• Develop production procedures and transition parts to high-rate production.
• Coordinate development, qualification, and testing of systems and tooling.
• Implement DFMA changes to improve production efficiency.
• Create CAD models and prints for flight or tooling components.
• Lead on-site design engineering for efficient build of parts and assemblies.
• Create and maintain build schedules.
• Resolve manufacturing discrepancies with quality team and suppliers.
