Job summary

• Grind, sand, clean or polish objects or parts to meet defects and finish standards.
• Control equipment during grinding and polishing processes.
• Measure and mark equipment, objects, or parts to ensure standards.
• Inspect finished work pieces against templates and measurements.
• Record product and process data on specified forms.
• Lift, trim, scrape, or deburr objects using hand tools and equipment.
• Transport equipment or parts to designated work areas.
• Meet productivity goals.
• Work in a fast-paced, intense environment with ability to complete assignments.

Job description

• Responsible for grinding, sanding, cleaning, or polishing objects or parts to correct defects or to prepare surfaces for further finishing, using hand tools and power tools.
• Responsible for controls to adjust, start, or stop equipment during grinding and polishing processes.
• Measure and mark equipment, objects, or parts to ensure grinding and polishing standards are met.
• Verify quality of finished work pieces by inspecting them, comparing them to templates, measuring their dimensions.
• Record product and process data on specified forms.
• Trim, scrape, or deburr objects or parts, using hand tools and equipment.
• Transfer equipment, objects, or parts to specified work areas, using moving devices.
• Meet productivity goals.
• Understanding of manufacturing capabilities, processes, and procedures
• Must manage and complete multi-functional tasks quickly.
• Must be willing to work in a fast paced, intense environment, with the ability to complete assignments.
• Must be willing to wear a respirator mask.
• Availability to work overtime to meet deadlines.
• Other duties as assigned by Manager

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

• The employee frequently is required to walk or stand for long periods of time.
• The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs., occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
