Job summary

Vireo Health of Rocky Mountain is seeking a Budtender at Everest Cannabis Co in Albuquerque, NM. You will provide exceptional customer service, share in-depth product knowledge, and ensure a positive, educational shopping experience for our customers.

You will promote responsible cannabis use, maintain compliance with state/local regulations, and support store operations. Candidates should have a high school diploma, be 21+, and possess strong communication skills and cash handling abilities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Prior retail or customer service experience preferred.
• Knowledge of cannabis products is a plus.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient in cash handling and basic math.
• Reliable, punctual, and strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly, assess preferences, and recommend products.
• Educate customers on product benefits, effects, and safe consumption.
• Process transactions accurately using the POS and maintain cash handling discipline.
• Keep store displays neat, up-to-date, and compliant with regulations.
• Collaborate with the team and support management in store activities.

*As a tipped industry, tips are and can be variable as a result of many factors, including shift availability, schedule, full-time/part-time status, hours of operations, weekends/nights, and specific dispensary. As a Budtender, you play an integral role in providing exceptional customer service, offering in-depth product knowledge, and ensuring a positive and educational shopping experience for our valued customers. What impact you’ll make:

Customer Service and Product Expertise (50%)

• Extend a warm and professional welcome to customers, attentively listening to their unique preferences and requirements
• Offer expert insights and personalized product recommendations tailored to individual preferences and usage scenarios
• Educate customers about the advantages, potential effects, and safe consumption methods of diverse cannabis products, ensuring they make informed choices

Store Operations and Compliance (30%)

• Uphold the appeal of our store environment, keeping it neat and visually enticing, and maintaining well-organized product displays
• Stay updated on industry trends, the latest product releases, and ever-evolving regulations to provide accurate and timely information to customers
• Efficiently manage cash transactions and utilize our point-of-sale system for streamlined sales processing
• Demonstrate unwavering adherence to all company policies and procedures, ensuring full compliance with state and local regulations

Communication and Team Collaboration (20%)

• Collaborate seamlessly with your fellow team members to cultivate a positive, customer-centric work atmosphere
• Provide valuable support to the Management Team in various store activities and operations, including customer assistance, checkouts, and cash handling
• Embrace other duties as assigned by the Management Team to ensure a cohesive and efficient team dynamic

Please note that the percentage allocations are a general estimate and may vary based on business needs and priorities. Additional duties may be required as needed to support overall operations.

What you’ve accomplished:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Previous experience in a retail or customer service role is preferred
• Knowledge of cannabis and its products is a plus
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Proficient in cash handling and accurate basic math calculations
• Reliable, punctual, and possesses a strong work ethic

Working Conditions (Schedule, Environment, Travel)

• Ability to lift 25 lbs. or more multiple times per day
• Stores are open 7 days a week from 8:00 am – 11:45 pm (varying by location), nights, weekends & holidays
• The schedule will vary depending on the needs of the business
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid New Mexico Food Handler License to support safe and compliant handling of cannabis products.
