Job summary

Moment Dispensary in Parkville, MD is opening and building a team from the ground up. The Budtender will deliver a welcoming, knowledge-rich customer experience, guide customers through cannabis products, and help drive sales in a fast-paced retail setting.

The ideal candidate is friendly, reliable, and comfortable engaging a diverse customer base. A willingness to learn our systems and processes is essential; on-site interviews will be conducted at the job fair.

Moment Dispensary is a brand-new cannabis dispensary opening in Parkville, Maryland. As a new store, we’re building our team and establishing our presence in the local community from the ground up. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to be part of our opening team and help bring Moment Dispensary to life from the very beginning.

About the Role

The Budtender is a customer-facing position focused on providing an excellent customer experience, educating customers about cannabis products, and helping drive sales.

The ideal candidate is friendly, approachable, interested in cannabis, and comfortable working with a wide range of customers. Budtenders represent the Moment brand with professionalism and enthusiasm and help create a welcoming environment where customers feel comfortable exploring cannabis.

The Budtender works under the direction of the General Manager and follows all Company policies, procedures, and applicable Maryland cannabis regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome customers and provide friendly, professional service.
• Represent the Moment brand in a positive, enthusiastic and authentic manner.
• Learn about customer preferences and recommend appropriate products.
• Educate customers about cannabis products, brands, accessories and available options.
• Help drive sales by actively engaging with customers, promoting products and brands, and identifying opportunities to recommend complementary products and accessories.
• Build positive customer relationships and encourage repeat visits.
• Process customer purchases accurately using the point-of-sale system.
• Stay informed about current products, new arrivals, and the Company’s promotions and initiatives and actively communicate information to customers.
• Follow all Company policies, procedures, and applicable Maryland cannabis regulations.
• Assist with stocking, merchandising, inventory counts, cleaning and general dispensary operations as assigned.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming sales floor.
• Assist with opening and closing procedures as assigned.
• Participate in product and brand training.
• Relay product feedback and other market trends and key information to management.
• Deliver consistently positive customer experiences that reflects the Moment brand.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Must successfully complete all required onboarding and be able to pass a background check and receive MCA Agent approval.
• Previous customer service, retail, sales, hospitality, cannabis, or related experience preferred.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Friendly, approachable, and comfortable interacting with a wide range of customers.
• Genuine interest in providing an excellent customer experience.
• Willingness and ability to learn new systems and processes.
• Ability to adapt to a startup environment and changing business needs.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Ability to follow established procedures and policies.
• Comfortable with technology and ability to learn to use our systems.
• Reliable, punctual, organized, and able to work as part of a team.

Other Assets

• Previous experience as a budtender or in a licensed cannabis dispensary.
• Knowledge of cannabis products and consumption formats.
• Experience working with point-of-sale systems, especially in a cannabis environment.

Physical & Work Environment

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during shifts.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
