Job summary

The University of Texas at El Paso invites applications for a Budget Analyst in the Budget and Payroll Services department. Under general supervision, you will perform moderately complex budget preparation and analysis, including preparing, reviewing, and analyzing budgets and performance measures, and monitoring budgets and program performance.

You will compile Ad Hoc reports, assist in funding decisions, and support Legislative Appropriations requests.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, or related field
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to multi-task in a team oriented environment and be a self-starter
• Moderate competency with Microsoft spreadsheets, database retrieval and reports

Responsibilities

• Perform budget preparation and analysis work
• Prepare, review, and analyze budgets and performance measures
• Monitor budgets and program performance
• Assist in Ad Hoc reporting and analysis
• Assist in funding source problems and budget issues
• Support Legislative Appropriations requests and other requests
• Develop and monitor accounting systems and controls
• Prepare reports on performance measures and operating budgets
