Job summary

The City of Alexandria's Department of Community and Human Services seeks a Fiscal Officer I to manage budget estimates, fund requirements, and the execution of approved budgets by city officials and contractors.

You'll monitor reimbursement activities, prepare monthly analyses, coordinate with program directors, and provide financial guidance while maintaining proper documentation and adherence to federal, state, and local policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business or public administration; supervision experience.
• Knowledge of budgetary principles and practices; ability to supervise or manage staff.
• Ability to plan, organize and direct accounting systems and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Performs analytical work involving budget estimates and execution of approved budgets.
• Coordinates reimbursement activities and provides program controls over funds.
• Gathers grant information and supports budget and financial management projects.
