Job summary

CareerBank is seeking an experienced accounting professional to support the Financial Accounting Supervisor in preparing and analyzing financial data. You will assist with the annual budget and audits, post journal entries, and reconcile accounts to ensure accuracy.

The role requires strong analytical skills and proficiency in Excel and SAP. Responsibilities include preparing reports, monitoring budgets, and coordinating with departments to gather data.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting with state or governmental fund accounting knowledge preferred.
• GASB standards knowledge and ability to apply accounting theory to financial reporting.
• Strong analytical skills to review financial records and reconcile accounts.
• Excellent MS Word/Excel skills and ability to prepare complex reports.

Responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries, adjustments, and budget-related schedules.
• Review financial documents and determine proper accounting treatment; post to system.
• Balance, reconcile, and report on accounts; prepare month/quarter/year-end statements.
• Assist in budget preparation and audits, collecting data from departments.
• Perform internal control reviews and financial studies to identify process gaps.
