Job summary

The San Jose/Evergreen Community College District is seeking a Public Agency – Supervisor, Business Services for a temporary assignment through June 30, 2027. The role reports to the Vice President, Administrative Services and leads the campus Business Services Department's financial operations.

Responsibilities include supervising daily operations, preparing financial performance statements, coordinating with the District Office, and supporting budget administration and audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in accounting, finance, business administration or a related field.
• Three years of increasingly responsible accounting and budgeting experience, including one year of lead or supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and participates in the daily operations of the Business Services Department; leads preparation of financial statements for campus budget; coordinates financial flow with the District Office; reconciles budgets and produces general ledger and summary documents.
• Performs internal audit of campus financial data to ensure accuracy and compliance; maintains documents for audits; reviews and verifies financial management of staff and budgets.
• Oversees and prepares periodic financial statements for general fund accounts, grants and special programs; assists with year-end closing and reporting for funds.
• Prepares budget transfers or journal vouchers; reviews expenses for compliance; resolves budget variances with department heads; processes transfers and transactions.
• Provides training and technical expertise to administrators, faculty, and staff for budget development; conducts workshops; assists fund managers in resolving budget issues.
