Job summary

National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) invites summer interns for a 10-week program in Chantilly, VA. The position is full-time, temporary (June–August 2027) with opportunities to contribute to budget formulation, execution, and financial systems analysis.

Applicants must be U.S. citizens and meet student status requirements; selective service rules apply. A TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required for eligible roles.

Qualifications

• Undergraduates must have completed a minimum of 24 credit hours at the time of application.
• GPA of 3.0 or higher must be maintained through the duration of the program; and
• Maintain full-time student status during the program.

Responsibilities

• Budget Formulation – forecast budget needs for future years by planning/balancing limited resources.
• Budget Execution – day-to-day budget actions/reporting and contractor performance analysis.
• Fiscal Law & Policy – execute budgets within legal parameters and policy; federal context.
• Financial Systems – learn and leverage systems/databases to support budget decisions.
