Job summary

National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) invites motivated students to join its 10-week Summer Internship Program, running June through August. Interns work on assigned projects under supervision and receive structured training to prepare for NRO projects and initiatives.

Eligible candidates are enrolled full-time in an undergrad or grad program with a 3.0+ GPA, and must be geographically located near Chantilly, VA. A successful internship may lead to future opportunities within NRO.

Qualifications

• Be enrolled full-time in an undergraduate or graduate degree program at an accredited college or university.
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
• Undergraduates must have completed at least 24 credit hours at the time of application.
• Provide an unofficial transcript at the time of application and an official transcript upon acceptance.
• Be available for an interview and other processing.
• Be available near Chantilly, Virginia for the 10-week program (June–August).
• NRO requires passing pre-employment drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Intern projects: complete a project aligned with mission need under direct supervision.
• Participate in professional development and training experiences including speaker series and Q&A sessions.
• Support contract management, budgeting, and financial concepts relevant to NRO programs.
