Job summary

The Huntsman Cancer Institute is seeking a Budget Analyst II to support budgeting and resource planning efforts. You will assist in defining project content, use statistical models to analyze data, and help prepare cost forecasts that influence budget decisions.

You will also contribute to annual budget processes and maintain relevant budgeting databases, ensuring accurate financial reporting for informed resource allocation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s (or equivalency) + 4 years direct related work experience or Master’s (or equivalency) + 2 years.
  • Experience in higher education financial areas is preferred.
  • Ability to maintain and update computerized databases.

Job Summary

Assists in preparing operating budgets. Develops, analyzes, and presents timely and accurate data and information for fiscal planning, budget decision-making, and resource allocation. Responsibilities

This position is patient-sensitive and must fulfill all associated vaccination requirements, or be approved for an exemption, prior to the first day of work. We protect our patients, coworkers, and community by requiring all patient-sensitive employees to be immunized according to CDC standards and hospital policy. Limited exemptions may be made for documented medical contraindications or religious beliefs that object to vaccinations.

  • Assists Budget and Resource Planning personnel in defining the content and scope of budget and resource projects and assignments.
  • Utilizes statistical methods and computerized models to organize and analyze issues and information.
  • Collects and analyzes data and evaluates alternatives; prepares and distributes reports on research results for review.
  • Prepares statistical/ financial studies and cost/ income forecasts that are used in addressing issues that have a budgetary impact.
  • Assists in the preparation and analysis of the department’s annual operating budget.
  • Assists in the maintenance of the budget system and budget database.
Minimum Qualifications

EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT : 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience (Example: bachelor’s degree = 4 years of directly related work experience).

Department may hire employee at one of the following job levels:

Budget Analyst, II: Requires a bachelor’s (or equivalency) + 4 years or a master’s (or equivalency) + 2 years of directly related work experience.

Preferences
  • A familiarity with maintaining and updating computerized databases and experience in higher education financial areas is preferred.
  • Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.
