Responsibilities

  • Reviews and assesses agency budget work programs for compliance, accuracy and explanations.
  • Analyzes, approves, and posts agency budgets and revisions in the state system, establishing expenditure limits.
  • Tracks, monitors, and analyzes legislation for fiscal and policy implications for assigned agencies.
  • Consolidates, analyzes, and reports agency budget requests.
  • Creates agency reports for the Governor’s Executive Budget Book.
  • Facilitates and responds to executive, public, and legislative information requests.
  • Identifies opportunities to improve cost efficiency of state programs.
  • Assists with training peers and agency financial staff.

Job Details

Full-time, 40 hours per week in office position.

Responsibilities

Reviews and assess agency budget work programs for constitutional and statutory compliance, technical accuracy, and agency budget explanations.

  • Analyzes, approves, and posts agency budgets and budget revisions in the state system of record, establishing expenditure limits.
  • Tracks, monitors, and analyzes legislation to identify critical fiscal and policy implications for assigned agencies
  • Consolidates, analyzes, and reports agency budget requests.
  • Creates agency reports for inclusion in the Governor’s Executive Budget Book.
  • Facilitates and responds to executive, public, and legislative information requests.
  • Denotes Essential Function Physical Demands and Work Environment This position works in a comfortable office setting with a computer for a large percentage of the workday. The noise level in the work environment is usually mild. Some travel may be required.

Identifies quality proposals for improving the cost-efficiency or cost-effectiveness of state programs.

Assists with training peers and agency financial staff.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college; or 3-5 years of state finance experience
  • Preference will be given to candidates who possess A relevant degree in business, economics, accounting, finance, or public administration
