Job summary

Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation & Reentry (ADCRR) seeks a Budget Analyst for the Arizona State Prison Complex – Safford. The role involves monitoring budgets, balancing funds and analyzing costs to support agency goals and financial stewardship.

The position requires strong budgeting and accounting knowledge, plus experience in reporting, forecasting and financial controls within a public-sector environment.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in accounting or budgeting positions.
• Knowledge of budgeting, accounting, GAAP and procurement regulations.
• Ability to analyze financial reports and forecasts.

Responsibilities

• Performs budgeting and funding activities
• Researches and prepares financial reports
• Monitors and projects costs
• Reviews and approves purchase requests, vendor payments, travel settlements, and other financial transactions
• Ensures transactions are entered into Fund Control systems
• Collects and reconciles credit card statements monthly with backup documentation
• Acts as Acting Business Administrator when absent
• Responds, performs, and makes decisions on situations as necessary
• Reviews reports and data to support agency goals
• Attends meetings, training, functions and seminars as necessary
• Drives on State business
• Performs other duties appropriate to the assignment
