Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this full-time position is to assist the Maryland Department of Health's (MDH) Budget Management Director in directing the operations of the Budget Management Office. This office is responsible for the preparation and management of operating budgets for 48 programs with an aggregate total budget of $16.0 billion in FY 2025.

Note: This position is hybrid telework eligible.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Seven years of experience in budget preparation, presentation, and execution.
Notes
  • Candidates may substitute a Bachelor's degree and three years of relevant experience.
  • Graduate education in related fields can substitute for experience at a rate of 30 credit hours for five years of experience.
  • Military service experience in relevant roles can substitute on a year-for-year basis.
Desired or Preferred Qualifications

The ideal candidate should possess:

  • FMIS experience
  • Fiscal officer experience
  • Budget analysis experience
