The Department of Commerce, Community and Economic Development's Division of Administrative Services is recruiting for a Budget Analyst 1/2 in Juneau or Anchorage. This flexibly staffed position supports the development, review, and administration of the department's operating and capital budgets, with growth built in as you learn the budget cycle, key financial systems, and how program pieces fit together. This position is based in the department's main offices - either on the 9th floor of the State Office Building in Juneau or the 18th floor of the Atwood Building in Anchorage - each offering modern workspaces and excellent views. Minimum Qualifications

Budget Analyst 1 Minimum Qualifications

Two years of technical level experience in accounting, budget, finance, or similar field. This includes, but is not limited to, such work as Accounting Technician 1 and 2, Administrative Assistant 1 and 2, Statistical Technician 1 and 2, or Human Resource Technician 1 and 2 with the State of Alaska, or the equivalent elsewhere.


Substitution

A bachelor's degree from an accredited college in accounting, finance, business administration, economics, statistics, or a closely related field will substitute for the required experience.


Budget Analyst 2 Minimum Qualifications

One year of entry professional level experience analyzing and reviewing budgetary data and information; preparing analysis, reports, and recommendations on budgetary information; and utilizing electronic information management systems. This is met by service as a Budget Analyst 1 with the State of Alaska, or the equivalent elsewhere.


OR

Two years of entry level professional experience in accounting or auditing; financial management, budget analysis, management, or projection/forecasting; budget legislation or policy analysis; or economic or management analysis and projection.


Salary Information

Anchorage base salary amount, range 17/19: $2532.00-$2918.25 bi-weekly


Juneau base salary amount range 17/19: $2658.75-$3064.50 bi-weekly


FLEXIBLY STAFFED

This position is flexibly staffed. This vacancy may be filled at either the 1 or 2 level, depending on the applicant's training and/or experience. The full range of salaries is listed above. Starting salary will be determined by the level the position is hired at. If filled at Level 1, promotion to the Level 2 will occur upon successful completion of the probationary period and required training, as well as the applicant meeting the minimum qualifications of the higher job class.
