Job summary

Alaska Army National Guard is seeking qualified individuals for areas of consideration. Membership in the AKNG is required, and applicants must meet background, security, and Selective Service requirements. A 2-year trial period will assess fitness and suitability for continued employment within the Alaska Army National Guard.

Applicants must obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance. Overtime hours may be required to support operations, and domestic violence-related restrictions

Qualifications

• Alaska Army National Guard membership is required.
• Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
• Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
• U.S. Citizenship and Secret Clearance is required.
• APPOINTMENT FACTORS: Excepted/Officer/Warrant Officer/Enlisted in the Alaska Army National Guard.
• You will be required to serve a 2-year trial period during which we will evaluate your fitness and whether your continued employment advances the public interest.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance of the position.
• This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.
• Ability to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission.
• Irregular and/or overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day.
