This role is responsible for managing and monitoring budgets across multiple funding categories, ensuring accurate financial execution and compliance. Key responsibilities include reviewing financial reports, reconciling reimbursements, managing system access, and supporting departmental budget needs. The position also involves developing tools for real-time budget tracking and providing financial insights to leadership for effective planning.

The Essential Duties and Responsibilities are intended to present a descriptive list of the range of duties, but not all duties performed for this position. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Executing, obligating, and disbursing funds across multiple budget categories.
  • Approving outbound funding, reconciling reimbursements, and submitting cost transfers.
  • Pulling and reviewing financial reports to ensure funding accuracy; resolving system posting errors.
  • Conducting quarterly account reviews and monitoring payroll funding, making corrections as needed.
  • Reviewing travel authorizations and ensuring compliance with budget guidelines.
  • Providing budget status updates to leadership to support planning and execution.
  • Managing user access and training for financial systems; maintaining updated records and roles.
  • Supporting departments including utilities, agreements, housing, community services, and postage.
  • Developing tools linking utility and agreement data for real-time budget tracking.
  • Assisting coworkers across finance and other departments with budget-related tasks.

Minimum Qualifications:

To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The qualifications listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field; 3+ years of relevant experience.
  • Proficient in financial systems (e.g., ERP platforms) and advanced Excel functions.
  • Strong understanding of budget execution, fund disbursement, and financial compliance.
  • Experience with financial reporting, cost transfers, account reconciliation, and payroll funding.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Clear communicator with ability to support leadership and collaborate across departments.

Additional Qualifying Factors:

As a condition of employment, you will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening (post accepted offer) and have acceptable background check results. If applicable to the contract, you must also obtain the appropriate clearance levels required and be able to obtain access to military installations.

This position requires the ability to maneuver around work sites, see, hear, and verbally communicate with co-workers and clients. Essential and marginal functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for bending, stooping, sitting, walking or standing for prolonged periods of time; frequent opportunity to move about and to work outside the office environment for extended periods involving exposure to the elements with weather that will include extreme heat, cold, wind, rain or other inclement weather, walking over rough and uneven surfaces, and routine lifting of up to 35 pounds. If required, must properly use personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times including but not limited to: hard hats, steel toed boots, eye protection, respiratory protection, and hearing protection. Must always maintain a constant state of mental alertness.

Working Conditions

Job is performed in a combination of office and outdoor site locations. The office setting includes exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, and mouse. Outdoor settings include walking, driving, and carrying supplies throughout all seasons with exposure to heat and cold conditions, and potentially wildlife. Is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and loud noise.
