Job summary

Distinctive Tree Care is seeking a Bucket Operator to safely operate a bucket truck and perform tree trimming, pruning, and removal for residential and commercial clients in Connecticut and nearby areas.

You will work with a ground crew to assess requirements, maintain equipment, and follow OSHA safety protocols while delivering high-quality arboricultural services and ensuring site safety and cleanups after operations.

Qualifications

• Previous experience operating a bucket truck or similar equipment preferred.
• Knowledge of tree care practices, including pruning, trimming, and safe removal techniques.
• Ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions.
• Follow safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhering to OSHA regulations.
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
• Valid driver’s license, with a clean driving record; CDL preferred.
• Physical ability to lift heavy materials and work in demanding conditions.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a bucket truck to access tree canopies and perform trimming, pruning, and removal work.
• Collaborate with the ground crew to assess work requirements and assist in determining the most efficient approach.
• Inspect and maintain the bucket truck and related equipment to ensure proper functioning and safety.
• Trim or remove tree limbs and branches, ensuring minimal impact to surrounding property and vegetation.
• Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate work activities and ensure safe execution of tasks.
• Safely lower or cut down limbs, branches, or entire trees using appropriate techniques and equipment.
• Assist in the cleanup of the worksite, ensuring all debris is properly disposed of or recycled.
• Report any equipment malfunctions, safety concerns, or other issues to the supervisor in a timely manner.

• Ability to work in all weather conditions and withstand extreme temperatures


• Must not exceed weight limitations for hydraulic buckets
