Job summary

NexForm Technologies in Battle Creek, MI is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to support overnight manufacturing operations by ensuring equipment reliability and safe production flow. This hands-on role covers mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic troubleshooting, mold changes, and collaboration with production teams to minimize downtime and drive continuous improvement.

Candidates should have a high school diploma and at least four years in manufacturing maintenance;

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Technical certification preferred.
  • Minimum 4 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience performing mold changes in a production setting required.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting abilities.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and industrial systems.
  • Basic computer skills; CMMS experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment and machinery.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns to minimize production downtime.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Assist with installation, setup, and calibration of new equipment.
  • Perform mold changes safely and efficiently according to procedures.
  • Prepare and verify molds prior to changeovers.
  • Ensure proper alignment, setup, and functionality before startup.
  • Work closely with production teams to reduce downtime and improve efficiency.
  • Inspect molds for wear or damage and report issues as needed.
  • Utilize the CMMS to track work orders and equipment history.
  • Communicate effectively with operators, supervisors, and engineering teams.
  • Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.

Nexform Technologies is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to support overnight manufacturing operations by ensuring equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and maintaining safe production flow.

This hands-on role combines mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic troubleshooting with mold changeovers and production support responsibilities. The ideal candidate is proactive, safety-focused, and thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment and machinery
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
  • Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns to minimize production downtime
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
  • Assist with installation, setup, and calibration of new equipment
  • Perform mold changes safely and efficiently according to procedures
  • Prepare and verify molds prior to changeovers
  • Ensure proper alignment, setup, and functionality before startup
  • Work closely with production teams to reduce downtime and improve efficiency
  • Inspect molds for wear or damage and report issues as needed
  • Utilize the PLEX maintenance system (CMMS) to track work orders and equipment history
  • Communicate effectively with operators, supervisors, and engineering teams
  • Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives
  • Complete additional duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Technical certification preferred
  • Minimum 4 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience performing mold changes in a production setting required
  • Experience performing dye changes efficiently and accurately preferred
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting abilities
  • Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and industrial systems
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and schematics
  • Basic computer skills; CMMS experience preferred
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Reliable, punctual, and safety-focused
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly
  • Ability to stand and move for extended periods (8-12 hour shifts)
  • Frequent bending, climbing, and working in confined spaces
  • Ability to work in non-climate-controlled environments
  • Ability to wear required PPE including gloves, safety glasses, and steel-toe boots
  • Overtime required
