Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Registered Nurse with a BSN to provide comprehensive patient care in alignment with Relationship Based Care. The RN will perform assessments, develop care plans, educate patients and families, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, evidence-informed practice.

Qualifications

• BSN degree from an accredited program.
• Current State of Illinois RN license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Ability to collaborate with others and strong interpersonal skills.
• ADN acceptable with commitment to obtain BSN within three years of employment.

Responsibilities

• Performs a comprehensive assessment on all assigned patients with complete documentation.
• Communicates changes in patient condition promptly to the care team.
• Derives and documents measurable goals in the plan of care; updates care plan as needed.
• Assesses discharge needs and coordinates referrals as necessary.
• Delivers patient education using teach-back methods and Krames resources.
• Participates in unit safety, quality initiatives, and ethics discussions as appropriate.
