Job summary

Unitek Learning seeks a BSN Nursing Instructor to join our team in Porterville, CA, working part-time at our campus. The role involves clinical site education for students in collaboration with Sierra View, with rotations that may include days, evenings, or weekends.

Pediatrics or Obstetrics experience is preferred, and salary ranges up to $70/hr DOE. The instructor will teach in skills labs and clinical settings, evaluate student performance, and maintain records according to policy.

Qualifications

• Hold a valid, unencumbered California BRN license.
• Eligible for CA BRN Instructor approval for Medical-Surgical, OB, Pediatrics, Mental Health, Community Health, or Geriatrics.
• Master’s degree from an accredited college or university including coursework in nursing, education, or administration.
• BSN and currently enrolled in a Master’s program may be considered for a Clinical Teaching Assistant.
• Minimum four years’ RN experience with at least one year in direct patient care in the last five years.
• One year of teaching nursing or related coursework is preferred.
• Expertise in Mental Health, Medical-Surgical, Geriatrics, Pediatrics, L&D, Community Health, or Critical Care.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical site education to students in the Workforce Development Program site.
• Teach in skills lab and/or clinical settings according to curriculum.
• Plan and supervise student clinical experiences in assigned facilities.
• Evaluate student performance against clinical learning outcomes.
• Provide timely feedback on clinical performance after observation.
• Maintain accurate attendance and skill check-off records for students.
• Ensure clinical assignments meet student and facility needs.
• Observe, instruct, and evaluate students using the best methods.
• Incorporate online tools to enhance course content and learning.
• Submit program reports to the Academic Site Director in a timely manner.
• Stay current with safety regulations and innovative teaching technologies.
• Participate in nursing program committees and attend faculty meetings.
• Offer student access through office hours and electronic communication.

Education

Master’s degree in nursing, education, or administration

BSN

Enrollment in Master’s program (possible for TA)

California BRN license
