Job summary

Unitek College is seeking an experienced Nursing Faculty member to teach and supervise obstetrics nursing students in both classroom and clinical settings. The role emphasizes collaboration with faculty to craft assessments and course materials while mentoring new instructors.

You will evaluate student performance and ensure clinical experiences align with learning objectives, safety standards, and program goals.

Qualifications

• Hold an active RN license issued by the State Board of Registered Nursing.
• Master of Nursing or higher with OB/Peds/psychiatry focus.
• At least four years’ experience as an RN providing direct patient care.
• Clinical teaching experience within the last five years.

Responsibilities

• Teach and supervise obstetrics nursing students in classroom and clinical settings.
• Collaborate with faculty to develop, administer, and grade course materials and examinations.
• Evaluate student performance and maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and clinical skills.
• Participate in curriculum development, quality improvement initiatives, and program assessment.
• Orient and mentor new faculty members in theory and clinical instruction.
• Utilize adult learning principles and integrate technology in teaching methods.
• Maintain current knowledge of obstetric nursing practices, technologies, and safety regulations.
• Participate in faculty meetings, committee activities, and student advising.
• Ensure clinical assignments meet learning objectives and facility requirements.
• Submit required reports and forms to the program director in a timely manner.
• Maintain professional development and contribute to the nursing program's mission and goals.

Job Description

Pay Range

The annual pay range for this position is $55.00 (minimum), $62.50 (midpoint), and $72.00 (maximum).

• Typical hiring range is between the minimum and midpoint of the above pay range. Actual starting base pay may vary based on factors such as education, experience, skills, location and budget.

Qualifications

• Hold a valid, active license issued by the State Board of Registered Nursing


• Master of Nursing or higher degree from an accredited college or university that includes course work in nursing or education, administration. OB, Pediatrics or Psychiatry


• At least four years’ experience as a registered nurse providing direct patient care


• A year of Clinical experience within the last five years (Clinical teaching applies toward direct patient care). Clinically competent as defined in CCR Section 1420(c)


• Expertise in one of the following areas of nursing – Psychiatric, Geriatrics, Med/Surg, Pediatrics or OB-Gyn
