Job summary

Addition Financial Credit Union is seeking a BSA Reporting Assistant Manager to lead the BSA/AML/OFAC program, supervise investigators, and ensure accurate alert investigations, SAR/CTR preparation, and regulatory reporting.

You will support audits and regulatory exams, help implement internal controls, and mentor staff while maintaining confidentiality and strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, criminal justice, or related field.
  • 5+ years in compliance, audit, or risk management within a financial institution.
  • Minimum 1 year supervising employees.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of the BSA Reporting department, ensuring effective execution of alert investigations, SAR/CTR preparation, OFAC screening, and 314(a) processing.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and coaching to BSA team; monitor productivity, quality, and adherence to regulatory requirements, internal procedures, and deadlines.
  • Conduct quality assurance reviews of BSA processes, reports and case investigations to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with credit union and regulatory standards.
  • Ensure timely and accurate filing of SARs and CTRs in accordance with federal and state regulations.
  • Review, validate, and oversee alerts and cases generated by BSA/AML systems, ensuring appropriate workflows, investigative actions, and documentation standards are met.
  • Manage SAR follow up processes, including assignment and tracking of 90-day reviews, and elevate ongoing suspicious activity as appropriate.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for subpoenas, 314(a) matches, and 314(b) requests; coordinate accurate and timely responses.
  • Ensure proper resolution of potential OFAC matches and forward True matches to management.
  • Monitor trends, identify emerging risks, and elevate significant findings or process improvement opportunities to management.
  • Support development and annual updates of the BSA/AML/OFAC Risk Assessment and recommend enhancements to internal controls and procedures.
  • Assist with audit and regulatory exam preparation by compiling required documentation and ensuring departmental readiness.
  • Maintain accurate records of quality control reviews, employee performance, and compliance-related findings.
  • Manage staffing operations, including scheduling, time-off approvals, payroll validation, and maintaining employee records in compliance with company guidelines.
  • Lead performance management efforts by monitoring staff metrics, conducting regular check-ins, delivering feedback, and supporting employee development plans.
  • Train and onboard new employees while fostering continuous learning, consistency, and technical expertise across the team.
  • Promote a positive team environment through engagement, communication, and team‑building initiatives, ensuring accountability and adherence to company policies.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive member and organizational information, ensuring compliance with security and privacy standards.
  • Stay current on BSA/AML/OFAC regulations and industry practices through ongoing training and participation in compliance initiatives.
  • Perform additional duties, projects, and assignments as required.

SUMMARY

The BSA Reporting Assistant Manager plays a key role in administering the Credit Union's BSA/AML/OFAC compliance program by overseeing daily operations and supervising BSA Reporting Specialists. This position provides leadership, training, and guidance to ensure the accurate, timely, and compliant execution of investigations, transaction monitoring, suspicious activity identification and escalation, regulatory reporting, and quality assurance activities. The Assistant Manager supports internal audits and regulatory examinations, serves as a backup to the BSA Manager, and contributes to the development, implementation, and maintenance of internal controls, compliance records, and risk mitigation strategies designed to strengthen the organization's compliance framework and reduce exposure to financial crime.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

REQUIREMENTS
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, criminal justice, or a related field preferred. A combination of education and work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Any applicable system or program knowledge
  • Proficiency with BSA/AML monitoring systems including understanding risk scoring and calibration methodologies.
Experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience working within a financial institution in a compliance, audit, or risk management role.
  • Extensive understanding of BSA, AML, OFAC, and USA PATRIOT Act requirements.
  • Minimum one year of experience supervising employees, including performance coaching, mentoring, and supporting professional development.
