Job summary

Working Magic Talent Solutions is seeking a Brownfield Redevelopment Project Manager for our client in Auburn Hills, MI. You will lead environmental site assessments, remediation programs, and redevelopment initiatives, guiding full lifecycle delivery while ensuring EPA/CERCLA compliance and strong client relationships.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Environmental Science or Environmental Engineering, 5+ years of project management and 10+ years in environmental remediation/Brownfields, plus

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of project management experience.
  • Minimum 10 years of environmental remediation and Brownfield redevelopment experience.
  • Expertise in Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs).
  • Strong understanding of remediation technologies and environmental compliance frameworks.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and complex projects.
  • Proven client relationship management skills and stable work history.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and organizational communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects in a deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all phases of Brownfield redevelopment projects, including environmental site assessments, remediation, design, and construction.
  • Provide guidance to clients and municipalities on redevelopment incentives and strategic planning.
  • Ensure compliance with EPA, CERCLA, and state Brownfield program requirements.
  • Coordinate with public/private stakeholders including developers, community groups, local governments, and consultants.
  • Lead or support proposal development and business development initiatives.
  • Develop project budgets, monitor expenditures, and maintain cost control.
  • Define project tasks, schedules, resource plans, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Resolve project issues proactively and maintain on-time, on-budget delivery.
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams (engineers, scientists, contractors, planners).
  • Maintain continuous communication with clients and manage expectations.
  • Prepare client billing details and monitor outstanding accounts receivable.
  • Identify opportunities for scope expansion and additional revenue.
  • Mentor junior team members and support internal training.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

About the Role

Our client, a long-established environmental consulting and engineering firm (founded in 1985), is seeking a Brownfield Redevelopment Project Manager to lead environmental site assessments, remediation programs, and redevelopment initiatives. This individual will oversee full-lifecycle project delivery while ensuring federal, state, and local compliance and maintaining high-value client relationships.
