Job summary

AHRC New York City is seeking a part-time School Aide for Brooklyn Blue Feather in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn. You will follow the teacher/behavior trainer's schedule, support IEP objectives, and provide direct care to students as needed within an instructional setting.

Hours are 8:45 A.M - 2:45 P.M for a 10-month program with a 30-day summer session. This position is non-benefit, and experience with students with disabilities is preferred.

• Follow daily activity schedules and support implementation of student IEP objectives.
• Provide direct care services as needed (toileting, dressing, feeding) in an instructional manner.

Currently seeking a School Aide for Brooklyn Blue Feather in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn.

Role Description:

• Hours: 8:45 A.M - 2:45 P.M
• 10 month program with 30 day summer session
• Responsibilities include:
• Under the direction of the Teacher/ Behavior Trainer, follow the daily activity schedule/lesson plans and support and guide the implementation of a student’s objectives as indicated in his/her IEP.
• Provide direct care services to student as needed, including toileting, dressing and feeding, in an instructional manner so as to provide the basis of future independent student action.
• Participate in the arrival and dismissal of student as needed.
• Participate in activities outside the classroom when necessary (e.g. playground, field trips, gym etc.); interact with the student; and address the student’s safety and physical needs.
• Understand the nature of the student’s disability and its impact on the student’s performance; be familiar with the student’s IEP objectives including the educational purpose and methodology; be familiar with the student’s medical alerts and EPOP (Enhanced Protective Oversight Plan)
• This is a non-benefit position.
