Job summary

Foster Farms in California is seeking a hands-on Ranch Worker to assist with chick placement, feeding, and daily care on the farm. You will help remove mortality, level drinkers and feeders, and support general ranch operations.

The role requires physical fitness, reliability, and the ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays. You will follow safety guidelines and report to ranch management to ensure smooth day-to-day duties.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
• Must have dependable transportation to work on various ranches and report to work timely.
• Must be self-motivated and work independently or in group settings as needed.
• Must be able to perform groundwork when needed.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule which may include weekends and holidays.
• Must have good verbal and written communication skills (Basic English).
• Must be able to receive and follow direction from the crew lead person, supervisor and also ranch management personnel.
• Must be able to work safe and follow company standards, guidelines and policies.
• Must have the ability and desire to promote to higher level ranch positions.

Responsibilities

• Place chicks, pre-feed and feed, remove mortality, level drinkers and feeders, and perform ranch tasks as required.
• Chick placement and related duties on the ranch.
• Pick up DOAs, maintain equipment, hook up track feeder systems, and assist with ranch maintenance.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

Essential Functions

Rate of Pay: $17.00 per hour

(Additional $1.00per hours worked between 7:00pm and 11:59pm. Additional $2.00per hour for hours worked between 12:00am-4:59am)

• To be able to place chicks, pre- feed and feed, removemortality from chicken houses, level drinkers, level feeders and perform other tasks that are required on theranch.
• Chick placement.
• Pick-up DOA's, level drinkers, level track /pan feeders, hook-up track feeder system,lubricate - winches, hoopers, feedmoters, gear-boxes, fan maintenance / fan relocation,and ranch appearance.
• Other duties as assigned per management.
