Job summary

Foster Farms is seeking a ranch worker to contribute to the care of chicks, feeding, and farm maintenance across multiple ranch sites. You will support hatchery-to-ranch operations with attention to safety and efficiency.

Wage starts at $17.00 per hour with additional $1.00 for evening hours (7:00–11:59 PM) and $2.00 for overnight (12:00 AM–4:59 AM). Ability to lift 50 lbs and work weekends is required.

Qualifications

• Reliable transportation to work on various ranches and report on time.
• Must be flexible and able to work weekends/holidays.
• Basic verbal and written English communication skills.
• Ability to take directions from crew lead and ranch management.

Responsibilities

• Chick placement and feeding; perform tasks to maintain chicken houses.
• Place chicks, pre-feed and feed, remove mortality, level drinkers and feeders.
• Lubricate winches, track feeders, and perform routine equipment maintenance.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

Essential Functions

Rate of Pay: $17.00 per hour

(Additional $1.00 per hours worked between 7:00pm and 11:59pm. Additional $2.00 per hour for hours worked between 12:00am-4:59am)

• To be able to place chicks, pre- feed and feed, remove mortality from chicken houses, level drinkers, level feeders and perform other tasks that are required on the ranch.
• Chick placement.
• Pick-up DOA's, level drinkers, level track / pan feeders, hook-up track feeder system, lubricate - winches, hoopers, feedmoters, gear-boxes, fan maintenance / fan relocation, and ranch appearance.
• Other duties as assigned per management.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
• Must have dependable transportation to work on various ranches and report to work timely as scheduled.
• Must be self-motivated and work independently or in group settings as needed.
• Must be able to perform groundwork when needed.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule which may include weekends and holidays.
• Must have good verbal and written communication skills (Basic English).
• Must be able to receive and follow direction from the crew lead person, supervisor and also ranch management personnel.
• Must be able to work safe and follow company standards, guidelines and policies.
• Must have the ability and desire to promote to higher level ranch positions.
