Job summary

Foster Farms in Fresno, CA is seeking a Brooder Crew Supervisor to oversee, analyze, and guide all aspects of the Brooder Crew, ensuring high quality and safety while controlling costs.

You will plan labor, train crew members, collaborate with other supervisors, supervise equipment maintenance, monitor work quality, and complete records including monthly evaluations and safety programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Poultry Science, Ag-Business or related field preferred.
• Strong oral and written communication skills; bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Strong leadership and supervisory abilities with independent, fair evaluation.
• Flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and early/late hours.
• Good computer skills and ability to create and analyze data.
• Interface with all support groups and upper management.
• Ability to work independently with strong time management.
• Valid Class C Driver's License with clean DMV record.
• Adherence to bio-security and animal welfare policies.
• Detail-oriented with mechanical, mathematical and analytical aptitude.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, analyze, guide and control all aspects of the Brooder Crew to promote consistent performance at the least cost, while maintaining highest quality and safety standards.
• Anticipate and monitor ranch and crew labor needs; orientate and trainBrooder Persons to become Assistant Ranch Foreperson Trainees.
• Work with other supervisors to solve labor problems.
• Work with other supervisors to distribute labor.
• Train and develop Brooder Crew Leadspersons and prepare crew employees for training programs.
• Supervise maintenance of equipment, justify and purchase new equipment as needed, and monitor service programs.
• Monitor quality of work in area of responsibility.
• Complete records; conduct monthly evaluations of Brooder Crew employees.
• Oversee safety programs.

• Pay or shift range: $68,640 USD to $74,500 USD
  The estimated range is the budgeted amount for this position. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications and other job-related reasons.

Description

Salary Range: $68,640-$74,500 per year

• Supervise, analyze, guide and control all aspects of the Brooder Crew to promote consistent performance at the least cost, while maintaining highest quality and safety standards.
• Anticipate and monitor ranch and crew labor needs. Includes being responsible for orientating and training Brooder Persons to become Assistant Ranch Foreperson Trainees.
• Work closely with other supervisors to solve labor problems.
• Work closely with other supervisors to distribute labor.
• Responsible for training and development of Brooder Crew Leadspersons and preparing crew employees for training programs.
• Supervise all maintenance of equipment. Includes, justifying and purchasing new equipment as needed, and monitoring all equipment service programs.
• Monitor quality of all work in area of responsibility.
• Complete necessary records to insure that the following is accomplished:
• Evaluation of Brooder Crew employees Monthly.
• Oversee safety programs.

Qualifications

• Strong Animal Science background/ chicken growing experience (a Bachelor of Science Degree in Poultry Science, Ag-Business or related field is preferred).
• Must have strong oral and written communication skills. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Must have strong leadership/supervisor skills with the ability to act independently and be able to evaluate fairly and objectively.
• Must be able to work flexible work schedules as needed to include weekends, holidays, late and early morning hours.
• Must have good computer skills and the ability to create and analyze data.
• Ability to interface with all support groups, departments and upper management.
• Must be able to work independently/ unsupervised and have strong time management skills.
• Must have a valid Class C Driver’s License and maintain a good DMV driving record.
• Must be able to follow and enforce all company policies and guidelines including bio-security and animal welfare policies and guidelines.
• Must be detailed oriented and have a strong mechanical, mathematical and analytical aptitude.
