Job summary

Chugach Government Solutions is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide comprehensive nursing care to Job Corps students in Bronx. The RN assesses health conditions, administers treatments, responds to medical needs, maintains medical records, and supports student health education and wellness.

The RN exercises professional judgment in assessment, determines interventions, and coordinates referrals when needed. A valid RN license and strong communication are required in a school health setting.

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted RN license in the applicable state.
• Education and qualifications sufficient to meet the requirements for RN practice.
• Demonstrated experience providing professional nursing care, including assessment and interventions.
• Ability to recognize and respond to medical emergencies.
• Ability to maintain accurate and confidential medical records and documentation.
• Ability to communicate effectively with students, healthcare providers, Center staff, and other stakeholders.
• Must satisfy background investigation and drug-screening requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provides comprehensive nursing care and clinical services to students in accordance with professional nursing standards.
• Conducts health assessments, obtains and evaluates patient histories, and assesses student health conditions.
• Provides sick-call services and responds to student medical concerns.
• Administers medications, treatments, immunizations, and other nursing services within the scope of licensure and established procedures.
• Recognizes changes in student health conditions and takes appropriate nursing action, including emergencies.
• Performs more complex nursing procedures and utilizes specialized medical equipment as required by Health & Wellness program.
• Coordinates physician evaluation, emergency care, specialty services, and referrals when appropriate.
• Provides health education and counseling to students regarding health, wellness, disease prevention, medications, and follow-up care.
• Maintains accurate, timely, and confidential medical records and documentation.
• Monitors student health conditions and follows treatment and care plans.
• Maintains medical supplies, equipment, and clinical areas in a safe condition.
• Coordinates with Health & Wellness Manager and other departments while maintaining confidentiality.
• Participates in health, safety, compliance, training, and quality-improvement activities.
