Job summary

ADAPT Community Network in New York seeks a part-time Physical Therapist to support Bronx adult programs for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Hours and schedule are flexible based on program needs, with emphasis on promoting independence through individualized therapy plans.

Under supervision, you will evaluate clients, develop treatment plans, document progress, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to enhance daily living and community participation.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy required.
• Current NY State license in Physical Therapy required.
• Experience with disabilities or nonprofit settings preferred.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate adults in areas of mobility, strength, posture and activities of daily living.
• Develop treatment plans and goals based on assessment.
• Teach adaptive skills for daily living and vocational tasks.
• Participate in ongoing staff development and interdisciplinary meetings.
• Document therapy progress and coordinate with other clinicians.
• Assist with supervision of interns and PT assistants.
• Maintain equipment and manage supplies.
• Travel between program locations as needed.
