Job summary

The Center for Family Representation Inc. (CFR) in New York is seeking a Social Work Supervisor for Family Defense in the Bronx. You will supervise 2–4 social workers and interns while handling a small caseload and collaborating with attorneys, parent advocates, and paralegals to defend families in Family Court.

Ideal candidates hold an LMSW with 3–5 years of related experience and a track record of supervision. SIFI certification and experience with marginalized communities are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Must have LMSW license.
• 3–5 years of experience at CFR or related family regulation work.
• Prior supervisory experience.
• SIFI certification.
• Experience with addiction, mental illness, and/or court involvement.
• Experience working with marginalized communities.
• Strong client counseling and programmatic skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Supervise two to four social work staff and interns.
• Carry a small caseload providing direct social work support to clients.
• Provide supervision and performance reviews for supervised staff.
• Supervise child protective intake with Social Work Director.
• Participate in staff trainings and technical assistance for external practitioners.
• Coordinate monthly Case Practice and Social Work meetings.
• Facilitate group supervision sessions for staff and interns.
• Review policy statements with ACS staff and other agencies.
