Job summary

Shema Kolainu - Hear Our Voices in the Bronx is seeking compassionate Direct Support Professionals to provide person-centered services under OPWDD Community Habilitation and Respite programs.

You will support individuals in daily living skills, promote community integration, and document progress toward ISPs while maintaining safety and respect for preferences.

Flexible schedule, part-time and per diem options, and shifts including evenings and weekends are available.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities essential for working with individuals and families.
• Ability to work independently with reliability and patience.
• Willingness to travel within NYC and adapt to various home/community settings.

Responsibilities

• Support individuals in developing daily living skills (e.g., cooking, hygiene, money management).
• Promote community integration by aiding participation in recreational, educational, and vocational activities.
• Implement and document progress toward ISPs and personal goals.
• Provide supervision and safety in home and community environments.
• Encourage self-advocacy and respect client preferences.
