Overview
NFP is seeking an experienced Commercial Insurance Broker to support our Central Region clients and teams. In this role, you will partner with producers, account management teams, carrier partners, and clients to develop placement strategies for both new and renewal business! You will play an important role in helping clients navigate risk, identify opportunities, and achieve their business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Client Strategy & Placement
- Partner with clients, producers, and account teams to develop placement and marketing strategies that align with business objectives, risk management goals, and growth priorities.
- Develop and coordinate placement strategies for new and renewal business, including needs assessments, program design, carrier engagement, and go-to-market planning.
- Analyze client risk profiles, business objectives, and risk tolerance to recommend appropriate insurance solutions.
- Collaborate with clients and account teams to gather information, prepare submissions, evaluate carrier proposals, and present recommendations.
- Identify creative solutions for complex placement scenarios while balancing client needs, market conditions, and business goals.
- Utilize data and analytics to provide meaningful insights that support informed decision-making and program performance.
Client Experience & Business Growth
- Contribute to client retention, growth, and relationship development by supporting new business opportunities, cross-selling initiatives, and portfolio optimization efforts.
- Partner with producers and account teams throughout the sales process, including prospect qualification, program reviews, recommendations, marketing efforts, and RFP responses.
- Support the development of client-facing presentations, stewardship reports, proposal documents, and other marketing materials.
- Coordinate broking activities throughout the placement lifecycle in alignment with NFP service standards and timelines.
- Build trusted relationships with clients and internal teams while helping to ensure a positive and consistent client experience.
Market & Carrier Relationships
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with carrier and wholesale partners to expand market access and support client objectives.
- Stay informed on carrier appetites, product offerings, market trends, and emerging industry developments.
- Share market insights and recommendations with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders to support informed risk management decisions.
- Support NFP's broking strategies through thoughtful carrier engagement and marketplace collaboration.
Team Development & Collaboration
- Share knowledge and market expertise with colleagues across the organization.
- Provide coaching and mentorship to team members while supporting professional development and continuous learning.
- Help account teams understand market conditions, placement strategies, and industry trends that may impact client outcomes.
- Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and client-focused environment across the region.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in commercial P&C broking, with a strong understanding of mid-market dynamics.
- Proven leadership experience in managing teams and driving strategic initiatives.
- Strong carrier relationships and commercial insurance market knowledge.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to mentor and develop talent across experience levels.
- Experience with Epic (agency management system) a plus
- Proven technical competency and creativity demonstrating excellence in developing and delivering innovative property and casualty solutions
- P&C Insurance License required
- Travel as required for client, prospect and industry events

The base salary range for this position is $127,000 – $215,000. The base salary offered will be determined by factors including, but not limited to, experience, credentials, education, certifications, skill level required for the position, the scope of the position, and geographic location. Actual base salary offered will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
