Expeditors is seeking a Brokerage FTZ Agent to achieve flawless operational performance, support our KPI standards, and provide expert customer service. You will work on FTZ operations, ensure compliance with customer SOPs, and use Expeditor systems efficiently.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor's in business, 3 years in import brokerage, and strong English/Spanish communication. The role emphasizes cross-functional teamwork, timely email handling, and ongoing process improvement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field is preferred.
  • 3 years’ experience in import brokerage.
  • Experience interacting with government agencies.
  • Good understanding of 19 CFR Parts 1-199 and HTSUSA.
  • English and Spanish fluency.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills.

Job Description

The Brokerage FTZ Agent achieves flawlessoperational performance, productivity, technical expertise, excellent customer service and constantly driving efficiency, supporting ourVision and Mission Statement, making our promise real to all our employees and customers.

General Responsibility

  • Exemplify and Teach Our Culture, Mission and Goals.

  • Complete 52-hour trainings per year (4.33 per month) and required training timely.
  • Own your self-development. Prepare, follow-up and execute on your personal development goals.
  • Correct utilization of company’s resources.
  • Escalation of issues to immediate supervisor and/or manager, or any other required team with the adequate expertise, as example, compliance, accounting, etc.

FTZ Operation

  • Understand and comply in utilizing the updated Customer SOP for all customers at all times.
  • Properly use all Expeditor systems and tools.
  • Ensure that all emails are handled timely (within 1-hour) and professionally.
  • Maintain highest compliance levels for all applicable Customers requirements and stay current with developments and changes in regulations.
  • Meet KPI Standards in accordance with the Company’s Procedures (OPS).
  • Ensure that all customer’s legal documents are updated.
  • Contribute to operational effectiveness and comply with District Excellence metrics applicable on your Product.
  • Actively participate in the optimization of systems, tools, processes and continuously improve the efficiency, productivity and quality of the service.
  • FTZ requests and In-bond clearances are processed as outlined in the Operational Process Standards (OPS).
  • Review FTZ related reportsand ensure accuracy.
  • Escalate issues to Lead, Supervisor or Operations Manager as needed.

Finance

  • Comply with all our policies, including the credit policy.
  • All files processed are timely and correctly billed.
  • Constantly work on prevent monetary losses.

Compliance

  • Understand and adhere to all internal controls.
  • Promote integrity and compliance with all company policies and regulations.

Security, Health & Safety

  • Immediately report any unsafe conditions or incidents to the Branch’s Health and Safety representative.
Qualifications

To be the most effective in this position we are looking for the following skills and experience:

  • Education : Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field (Preferred).
  • FTZ operation knowledge. (Preferred).
  • 3 years’ experience in import brokerage.
  • Experience interacting with government agencies.
  • Problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Customer Satisfaction oriented.
  • Good understanding of 19 CFR (Parts 1 – 199) and the HTSUSA.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills, ability to communicate at all levels.
  • Ability to complete work within standard procedures, guidelines and office policies.
  • Self-driven personality and good business sense.
  • Strong computer skills, including knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications.
  • English and Spanish fluency.
