Job summary

USI Insurance Services in Phoenix, AZ seeks a Broker Consultant to manage a broker book, coordinate day-to-day customer service, and support the ER relationship. The role acts as liaison between carriers and brokers while assisting with training, rate/renewal analysis, and broker visits as directed by management.

Ideal candidate has 1+ year in group health insurance, Life & Health license (or within 3 months), and strong communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in a group health insurance setting is preferred.
• Must hold Life & Health insurance license or obtain within three months from date of hire.
• Familiarity with products, services, competitive offerings, market needs and claims procedures.
• Basic understanding of alternate funding arrangements (fully/partially insured, min premium, self-insured).

Responsibilities

• Work with VIP brokers determined by value of business and level of difficulty.
• Resolve day-to-day service issues for brokers and vendors; assist with claims and billing problems.
• Respond to carrier and broker questions; ensure new business, renewals and broker letters meet requirements.
• Process plan changes submitted by account executives, broker consultants, and brokers.
• Provide follow-up communication on plan changes and enrollment issues.
• Process new business applications; ensure cases are installed quickly by the vendor.
• Identify cross-selling opportunities for other lines of coverage.
• Update client database and maintain case files with accurate information.
• Coordinate with team to meet Emerson Rogers (ER) standards for service and turnaround.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers, vendors, and internal staff.
• Stay current with insurance regulations, carrier plan options, underwriting rules and value add programs.
