Job summary

Fox TV Stations, KTTV Fox 11, seeks a versatile Transmitter and Studio Engineer to support the Mt. Wilson transmitter facility and West Los Angeles studios. You will split time between maintaining cutting-edge studio gear and high‑power transmission systems.

This role suits a technician with strong troubleshooting instincts and a hands‑on approach, offering a diverse day with on-call emergencies and evolving studio technology.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of experience in electronics repair, studio AV setup, IT/networking, or military technical roles.
• Technical degree or equivalent training valued.
• Basic IT/networking knowledge (IP addresses, subnets, switches, PCs).
• Valid driver’s license with clean record; ability to drive mountain roads in various conditions.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, work behind equipment racks.
• Availability for on-call emergencies outside of regular hours.
• Experience with soldering and reading schematics.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain MT Wilson high‑power transmitters and RF switchgear.
• Monitor site support systems: IT, microwave/terrestrial links, satellite downlinks, UPS and generators.
• Respond to transmitter outages and drive to Mt. Wilson to restore service.
• Ensure FCC compliance at transmitter site.
• Maintain studio equipment including cameras, robotic pedestals, production switchers, and audio consoles.
• Maintain central router, master control, and terminal equipment.
