Job summary

Sinclair in Tulsa is seeking a Full-Time Broadcast Engineer to install, troubleshoot, and support the infrastructure within the broadcast facility. The candidate should have a passion for broadcast/IT and be comfortable with current media technologies, concepts, and emerging trends.

Responsibilities include installing and maintaining broadcast and computer systems, supporting the News Department during newscasts and breaking news, and collaborating with vendors.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a broadcast environment or related field.
  • Strong engineering, IT/networking, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Willing to expand knowledge with emerging broadcast concepts/technologies.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
  • Self-starter, able to work independently and in a team.
  • Able to pivot and manage changing priorities and tight deadlines.
  • Degree in a technical field, certifications, and/or equivalent experience.
  • May be on-call 24 hours including weekends/holidays.
  • Ability to lift computers and equipment under 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Install, config, and maintain broadcast and computer systems.
  • Provide support to News Department before and during newscasts and breaking news.
  • Knowledge of Avid editing systems is a plus.
  • Provide end-user support; respond to help desk tickets/calls.
  • Interface with third-party vendors and support technicians.
  • Lead and complete projects as directed by management.
  • Adhere to company policies and best practices in a broadcast environment.
  • Other duties as assigned.
