Florical Systems in Gainesville, FL is seeking an Intermediate Software Tester to join a team supporting core broadcast software used in television operations.

You will design and execute manual and automated tests, analyze results, and work with developers to ensure mission‑critical reliability. This full‑time, on‑site role emphasizes QA rigor, SQL/NoSQL familiarity, and containerized test environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field or equivalent experience.
• Ability to develop and execute test cases from requirements and expected behavior.
• Experience identifying, reproducing, documenting, and communicating defects.
• Knowledge of LAN/WAN concepts and TCP/IP basics.
• Experience installing, configuring Windows OS.
• Experience with SQL or NoSQL databases.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills for logs, configs, DBs, and systems.
• Clear written and verbal communication of technical info.
• Experience with automated testing and Agile development.
• Experience with modern programming or scripting languages (e.g., C#, Python, PowerShell).
• Experience testing distributed, real‑time, or hardware‑integrated software systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute manual and automated test plans and cases.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, system, and exploratory testing.
• Identify, reproduce, document, and track defects using Jira.
• Verify fixes and perform regression testing.
• Analyze logs, queries, databases, APIs, and configuration data.
• Write SQL queries and analyze SQL Server and MongoDB.
• Review/configure JSON and XML files used by systems.
• Deploy and configure software in containerized test environments.
• Install and troubleshoot broadcast test hardware and network gear.
• Create test results, defect details, and installation notes.
• Collaborate with developers and product owners in an Agile setting.
• Contribute to test process improvements and coverage.
