Job summary

WKYC-TV in Cleveland, OH is seeking a meticulous Production Coordinator to ensure high-quality daily broadcasts across streaming and broadcast platforms. You will be a hands-on operator, working closely with the Production Lead to maintain efficient, high-quality productions for news, marketing, and sales content.

You’ll support the Production Lead, operate robotic cameras, manage studio lighting and teleprompter systems, and coordinate technical cues in a fast-paced news environment.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent in broadcasting, media production, or a related field.
• 1+ years of hands-on television broadcast or live production experience.
• Demonstrated technical aptitude and proficiency in operating production control room equipment.
• Hands-on expertise with news production tools, vMix, audio mixers, studio lighting, teleprompter systems, and robotic studio cameras.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to perform tasks accurately under time pressure.
• Excellent communication skills for coordinating technical cues in high-pressure, live situations.
• Ability to maintain composure and adaptability during breaking news and high-stakes events.
• Commitment to teamwork and technical excellence.
• Flexibility to work in a 24/7/365 operation, including various shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical liaison for news production and operations, ensuring seamless daily broadcasts and assign tasks related to production and operations.
• Create visually compelling content with attention to visual angles, lighting, and set arrangements.
• Set up, position, and operate robotic studio cameras as directed by the Production Lead or supervisors.
• Collaborate with engineering to optimize streaming systems and control room equipment for production needs.
• Assist the Production Lead in organizing technical elements for special events and breaking news coverage.
• Support the implementation of standard operating procedures to maintain workflow efficiency and broadcast quality.
• Maintain effective technical communication with the newsroom and engineering departments to ensure systems are operational.
• Provide continuous, high-quality technical support for live breaking news and community events.
