Job summary

FOX 10 Arizona is seeking an Operations Technician to join our team. The role blends production and master control duties, requiring multitasking and strong communication in a deadline-driven newsroom.

You will direct live broadcasts, prepare rundowns, and support training for fellow crew members while ensuring high-quality programming and timely execution. The position involves operating studio and remote equipment, working weekends/holidays as needed, and contributing to a fast-paced broadcast

Qualifications

Strong communication skills.
Ability to multitask in a deadline-driven environment.
Willingness to learn and grow as an operator and train others.
Experience directing and/or technical directing on-air for live news programming preferred.

Responsibilities

Direct live and recorded newscasts and programs using Sony ELC automation.
Prepare show rundowns by coding automation cues in iNews.
Collaborate with Producers to ensure rundowns have talent placement and proper camera blocking.
Operate camera robotics, audio console, switcher and floor direct as needed.
Oversee master control operations during live broadcasts and events.
Monitor audio, video and CC quality across multiple channels.
Execute breaking news cut-ins and manage join-in-progress playlists.
Route feeds for syndicated programs and live events; prepare shows for air by segmenting formats.
Transfer media into automation and prep for playback.
Check broadcast logs for accuracy and adjust playlists as required.
