Job summary

City of Riverside is seeking a Communications Supervisor to plan, organize, produce, and administer communications programs for RiversideTV and related channels.

The ideal candidate will lead production staff, manage budgets, coordinate with the Public Information Officer, and ensure alignment with Citywide messaging and priorities. Strong leadership and government communications experience are highly desirable.

Qualifications

• Experience in local government or public-sector communications.
• Experience leading and supervising a professional video, broadcast, multimedia, or AV team.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and allocate staff and resources effectively in a deadline-driven environment.
• Strong editorial judgment and ability to translate complex information into clear multimedia communications.

Responsibilities

• Plan and schedule television coverage and broadcasting of government meetings, live sports, special events, and other media.
• Supervise and conduct programming and staff oversight for Riverside Television Government Access Channel, website, and playback server 24/7.
• Direct and oversee live and recorded productions, ensuring high-quality work aligned with city priorities.
• Administer budget expenses and PEG fund utilization for production equipment, repairs, and staffing.
• Collaborate with City leadership, departments, media, and vendors to align RiversideTV with city messaging.
