Job summary

Harvey is building an in-house media production capability and seeks a Broadcast Engineer to own the technical foundation of video and audio delivery. You will design studio spaces, control rooms, IP signal fabric, and live-event execution, partnering with Corporate IT, Workplace, Brand, and Communications.

The role requires 7+ years in broadcast or high-end production, deep knowledge of Dante/NDI, and strong documentation skills.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in broadcast, live production, or high-end corporate production engineering with ownership of permanent installations.
• Strong command of video/audio signal flow: SDI/HDMI, embedding/de-embedding, sync, genlock, reference/timing.
• Experience with Dante networking and NDI workflows, including clocking, multicast/IGMP, VLANs, QoS, latency budgeting.
• Knowledge of color science: color spaces, gamma, LUTs, camera matching, monitor calibration.
• Proven ability to run live, high-stakes productions with rehearsal, show call, and incident response.
• Excellent documentation: runbooks, diagrams, and clear explanations to executives.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain Harvey’s video/audio infrastructure including studio spaces, control rooms, IP fabric, routing, recording, and streaming.
• Architect audio/video transport with Dante and NDI in collaboration with Corporate IT.
• Own execution for all-hands, executive broadcasts, customer events, and launches from setup through post-event review.
• Establish color/audio standards across the production chain and ensure consistent output.
• Diagnose and resolve complex signal-flow, network, and device faults under live conditions, documenting fixes.

Role Overview

Harvey is building an in-house media production capability for our most critical internal shows, and this is the engineering role at the center of it. The Broadcast Engineer will own the technical foundation of how Harvey captures, routes, and delivers video and audio — the studio and control room infrastructure, the IP signal fabric connecting our spaces, and the live execution of the company’s highest-visibility events. Today that work is a mix of well-run events and vendor-dependent infrastructure; the opportunity is to replace it with systems we design, understand, and can scale. This person will split their time roughly evenly between running shows and building the platform those shows run on, partnering closely with Corporate IT, Workplace, Brand, and Communications. The right person is equally credible in a rack room designing a Dante domain and in a headset calling a hybrid all-hands with the CEO on camera.

What You'll Do

• Design, build, and maintain Harvey’s video and audio infrastructure — studio spaces, control rooms, IP signal fabric, routing, recording, and streaming delivery — and own the standards, documentation, and configuration records behind it.

• Architect and administer audio-over-IP and video-over-IP transport: Dante audio networks (clock hierarchy and PTP, multicast and IGMP behavior, QoS) and NDI video workflows (discovery, switch and VLAN design, bandwidth budgeting), in partnership with Corporate IT.

• Own technical execution for Harvey’s highest-visibility productions — all-hands, executive broadcasts, customer events, launches, and recorded content — from engineering design and rehearsal through show call and post-event review, while raising day-to-day reliability across conference rooms and hybrid meetings.

• Establish and maintain color and audio standards across the production chain: camera matching and shading, LUT and color pipeline management, monitor calibration, loudness normalization, and consistent delivery specs across live, recorded, and distributed output.

• Diagnose and resolve complex signal-flow, network, sync, and device faults under live conditions, and convert each incident into a documented fix, a redundancy improvement, or a monitoring check.

• Evaluate and integrate new production systems, and manage integrators, rental partners, and vendors through specification, commissioning, and acceptance testing.

What You Have

• 7+ years of hands‑on broadcast, live production, or high‑end corporate production engineering experience, including ownership of permanent installations rather than only event‑by‑event work.

• Deep, demonstrable command of video and audio signal flow — SDI and HDMI, embedding and de‑embedding, sync and genlock, reference and timing, gain structure, and systematic fault isolation across a full chain.

• Production experience with Dante audio networking and NDI video workflows, grounded in the networking fundamentals each actually depends on — clocking and PTP, multicast and IGMP, VLAN and switch design, QoS, and latency and bandwidth budgeting.

• Working knowledge of color science as applied to production: color spaces and gamma, log formats, LUT creation and management, camera matching and shading, and monitor calibration for consistent output.

• Proven ability to run technical execution for live, high‑stakes events — rehearsal, show call, redundancy planning, and calm, structured incident response with an audience watching.

• Strong documentation and communication skills: clear system drawings and signal-flow diagrams, runbooks another engineer can follow, and the ability to explain technical constraints to executives and presenters without jargon.

Bonus Points

• Experience designing or commissioning a studio, control room, or broadcast facility from empty space through first show.

• Depth with production switchers, digital audio consoles, DSP platforms (Q-SYS, Yamaha), intercom systems, and camera control/shading systems.

• Zoom Room & Neatpad provisioning, operation and maintenance.

• Streaming and distribution experience: encoding, transcoding, CDN delivery, SRT/RIST/RTMP transport, and multi‑destination distribution.

• Automation and monitoring skills — scripting, control‑system programming, configuration management, or building instrumentation that catches failures before a show does.

• Certifications such as Dante Certification Level 3, Q-SYS Level 1 or 2, AVIXA CTS/CTS-D/CTS-I, or relevant networking credentials.

• Experience supporting a fast‑growing, multi‑office, globally distributed company.

$129,200- $177,700 USD
