Ardagh Metal Packaging in Winston-Salem, NC seeks a Briquetter/Overhead Crane operator to run the baler and overhead crane, moving scrap and finished materials in a heavy industrial setting.

You'll follow schedules, load trailers, and document material movements while maintaining safety and equipment. The role demands standing for long periods, ability to lift up to 60 pounds, and overtime availability.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Familiar with PPE and basic hand tools.
• Basic understanding of chemicals/solvents handling.
• Pass Ramsay Basic Skills Test at 65%+.

Responsabilités

• Operate baler and overhead crane following established procedures.
• Move materials using industrial truck as scheduled.
• Identify and transport items to storage, docks or trailers.
• Record production and shipments; load trailers.
• Perform routine lift truck inspections and basic maintenance.

Role Description

• The Briquetter/Overhead Crane position operates the baler and the overhead crane.
• Operates industrial truck to perform transportation assignments in designated locations according to prescribed method.
• Identify and transport material to and from storage areas, cars, or trucks, machines, and loading docks.
  

Key Responsibilities

• Identify many types, sizes and labels of finished or in process products, shipping material or other processing materials.
• Familiarize self with productive capacity of machines or lines and work from schedule and change sheets to assure correct and prompt delivery of items to proper destination.
• Collect scrap and/or spoilage and load into baler. Operate baler, remove jams and compacted scrap in equipment.
• Clean and lubricate baler.
• Load bales of scrap on return pallets.
• Weigh and mark scrap pallets. Keep records.
• Use hand trucks or dollies, work savers or similar powered vehicles.
• Use hand or automatic strapping equipment to replace or add strapping to loads.
• Handle and pile skids, pallets or drums.
• Stack spilled loads of materials or product.
• Move and replace scrap receptacles located throughout the plant.
• Segregate, weigh and record scrap for shipment.
• Record incoming and outgoing production and supplies.
• Load correct finished product into trailers.
• Insert and fill air bags safeguard product. Install wood dunnage and material in trailers per loading specs.
• Receive incoming material to proper storage or use location, using lift truck or hand cart.
• Notify supervisors of any incidents of recurring equipment malfunctions, discrepancies in shipments, receipts, delays and corrective action taken and of any poor-quality material or supplies noted.
• Operate equipment and assist production as directed.
• Make routine inspections of lift trucks to see that they are properly serviced.
• Add lubrication and coolant as required or service batteries.
• Handle dock board, packages, bracing and strapping.
• Use tools for bracing trucks and cars.
  

Knowledge, Skills And Experience

• Familiar with Personal Protective Equipment
• Mechanically inclined familiar with hand tools
• Familiar with proper handling of chemicals/solvents
• High School diploma or equivalent required
  

Requirements

• Able to stand for a long duration of time in excess of 8 hours a day
• Ability to pass the Ramsay Basic Skills Test test at 65% or higher
• Able to bend and rotate body repeatedly Able to lift up to 60 pounds
• Exposure to heat, cold, vibrations, odors, fumes and loud noise
• Able to perform fine manipulations with hands
• Able to climb stairs frequently
• Able to visually differentiate colors
• Willing and able to work overtime, weekends, holidays and night shifts
